Join the SOM London studio during London Design Festival 2026 for Change: 40 Years of SOM London, a new exhibition at Marylebone Hall celebrating four decades of the studio’s work while looking ahead to the ideas, technologies, and approaches shaping the future of design. Rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and the exchange of ideas, the exhibition considers design as a cultural practice and a shared process through which communities, technologies, and environments evolve.

Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) with Shepley Bulfinch, the UT Dell Medical Center will be a destination for world-class healthcare and will anchor a new campus for care, discovery and innovation as part of The University of Texas at Austin’s vision for advancing human flourishing.

Rivian has shared new plans and renderings for its SOM-designed manufacturing campus outside Atlanta, now under construction by Clayco. The nearly 2,000-acre development is designed to bridge the bustling interstate highway to the natural woodland landscape—bringing manufacturing, recreation, and verdant open space together across the campus.

With the construction industry accounting for nearly 40 percent of global carbon emissions, scaling the development, testing, and manufacturing of sustainable building materials is essential to addressing a warming world. For decades, SOM designed custom furniture for workplace, cultural, and hospitality environments, reflecting an ethos of “total design” in which architecture, interiors, and furnishings comprise a unified whole.
