Swedish chef Björn Frantzén is bringing Brasserie Astoria to Crown Perth, in a space inside Crown Towers that has never previously been open to the public. Crown announced the Perth venue today alongside a sister restaurant for Crown Sydney. Brasserie Astoria is expected to open next year. Frantzén is the only chef in the world holding three Michelin stars at three restaurants simultaneously: Frantzén in Stockholm, Zén in Singapore, and FZN in Dubai.

The City of Perth is planting more than 3,400 native plants on the northern side of Heirisson Island this Sunday, and it’s asking the public to turn up and help. The National Tree Day community planting runs from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, with the Lord Mayor, Councillors, City staff, and volunteers all on the tools. It’s suitable for all ages, but you will need to register. Then, all you have to do is show up along with sturdy, clean shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a hat, and a water bottle.

Owner Alberto Tassone has spent more than 30 years working towards this dream, and his vision is for a place that feels just as suited to a business lunch as it does an after-work drink.

Bryan Adams has announced he’s coming back to Perth. His Roll With The Punches world tour will start the Australian leg of the tour at RAC Arena on February 23rd next year, before heading to the east coast. The Canadian rocker was last here roughly two years ago, selling out arenas across the country. The world tour is in support of Adams’ 16th studio album, Roll With The Punches. Natalie Imbruglia has been announced as the opening act for the Australian tour.

Perth has been named one of the world’s 20 most liveable cities in Monocle magazine’s 2026 Quality of Life survey, finishing 20th, tied with Kyoto. Sydney landed in fifth place and Melbourne in 18th place on the list. Tokyo took the top spot, and Vancouver, Seoul, Zurich, and Copenhagen all made the top 20 alongside Perth. Monocle put Perth’s appeal down to its laid-back lifestyle, work-life balance, and outdoor activities. Its strongest praise went somewhere else entirely.

Landsdale MLA Daniel Pastorelli has been promoted to the Cook Government Cabinet, filling the vacancy left by veteran minister Paul Papalia. Premier Roger Cook confirmed the appointment today following a special meeting of the State Parliamentary Labor Party caucus. Pastorelli was only elected to Parliament in 2025, and until now had served as Cabinet Secretary.
