Tom Manning's Invisible Animal heads to Omnibus Theatre
New play Invisible Animal will open at the Omnibus Theatre in Clapham this October. Tom Manning’s piece will run at the London venue from 17 October – 4 November 2023. Inspired by writer and actor Tom Manning’s experiences growing up autistic in a world built for neurotypicals, Invisible Animal follows Tom as he faces up to his internalised ableism. Tom is challenged by the alter egos that help him navigate a neurotypical world that often fails to see him as the person he really is.
Burlesque musical adaptation set to make premiere in UK
The 2010 movie Burlesque is heading to the stage with a new musical adaptation. Work is underway on Burlesque: The Musical, written by the film’s director and screenwriter, Steven Antin. It will include songs originally written for the movie by Christina Aguilera, Diane Warren and Sia, together with new songs by Todrick Hall and Jess Foley. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show is being executive produced by Aguilera, and the plan is for a premiere production in the UK.

Casting has been announced for the return of My Neighbour Totoro in London this year. Based on Hayao Miyazaki’s 1988 animated film, My Neighbour Totoro will begin performances at Barbican Centre on 21 November 2023 with tickets on sale now. My Neighbour Totoro follows the journey of sisters Satsuki and Mei, who relocate with their father from Tokyo to an old countryside house. There, they uncover a realm of enchanting creatures, including the colossal forest spirit Totoro, living nearby.
