The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has cautioned residents and shop owners against engaging drug addicts and mentally ill persons to collect and dispose of waste, warning that the practice is contributing to indiscriminate dumping and worsening sanitation challenges within the municipality. The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nii Odarlai Parker has described as fake a letter in circulation purporting to postpone the constituency elections in Weija-Gbawe. According to Mr. Parker the letter is from some disgruntled members in the constituency. He accused them of forging the signature of the party’s acting National Chairman, Danquah Buttey Smith in an attempt to halt the constituency elections.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into allegations against a Chief Inspector stationed in the region over the alleged ownership of unauthorized wooden structures at Asafo BB in Kumasi. The officer is alleged to have rented the structures to commercial sex workers operating in the area.
