It is all part of Europe’s courtship of a country pushing for much deeper ties with the continent, potentially even some form of associate membership of the EU.

Die Linke also performed above average among voters with no religious affiliation, winning 28%.

ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News and CNN agreed to suspend their participation in the television pool, according to USA Today.

Source: Evan Vucci/Reuters US President Donald Trump stepped up calls for an end to the war in Ukraine on Monday, saying Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries had badly damaged Moscow’s energy sector and claiming Russia had lost control of its diesel industry, Politico reports. Intensified Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure have disabled almost half of the country’s refining capacity, according to a report cited by Politico.

Source: Alexander Ermochenko/Reuters President Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party has secured a majority in the State Duma in Russia’s first parliamentary elections since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, according to preliminary results reported by Politico. United Russia won around 58% of the vote for the 225 deputies elected through party lists.

Source: Sarah Meyssonnier/Reuters Hungarian energy company MOL and Ukraine’s state-owned Naftogaz have signed a memorandum of cooperation on a project to store petroleum products in Hungary near the Ukrainian border, according to the Hungarian newspaper Nepszava. The facilities would primarily serve the Ukrainian market, allowing Kyiv to move part of its strategic fuel reserves outside the country and further from the threat of Russian missile and drone attacks.

According to Russia’s state-run RIA news agency, Zuppi is also expected to meet Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Their discussions will primarily address the humanitarian consequences of the war.

The pricing would be for substantially less than we are currently paying to Canada, very good news for our Farmers and Ranchers”, Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Investigators searched Georgescu’s home on Monday after stopping him in traffic and taking him back to the property.
