There’s a new pathway between Seguin and San Antonio, thanks to a formal agreement between Texas Lutheran University and the St. Mary’s University School of Law. The two institutions are working together to help TLU graduates map their course to law school — and in turn, to bring exceptional students to St. Mary’s Law. As colleges and universities grapple with how artificial intelligence is reshaping education and work, a national study has found that graduates of Catholic colleges and universities report greater engagement with and preparedness for AI than graduates of secular institutions. The findings come from HIR 3.0, the third iteration of the Holistic Impact Report, commissioned by the Center for Catholic Studies at St. Mary’s University and conducted in partnership with YouGov.

With the recent addition of the Microenterprise and Community Development Clinic, St. Mary’s Law’s six clinics in its Center for Legal and Social Justice provide legal service and information to individuals who could not otherwise afford legal representation. The five established clinics are the Consumer Protection Clinic, Criminal Justice Clinic, Family Law Clinic, Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, and the Real Estate Clinic.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, St. Mary’s University students, faculty, staff and alumni will spread out across San Antonio for the annual Continuing the Heritage Day of Service. This year’s event carries special significance as the University has pledged to log 10,000 volunteer hours during the 2026-2027 academic year in honor of Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope.

This month, St. Mary’s University has received the Advising Success Network 2026 Student Choice Award for Holistic Advising. The award honors institutions that “demonstrate a strong commitment to elevating student voices and perspectives,” stated the Advising Success Network. The network includes national partner organizations convened by NASPA — Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.

Students and alumni from St. Mary’s University joined more than 170 members of the Marianist community at the 2026 Province Assembly in Dayton, Ohio, to share their thoughts on the future of the Marianist community and its mission. The event was hosted by the Marianist Province of the United States.
