I've been a Costco member for about 20 years. And when I first signed up, my warehouse trips were pretty predictable. I'd stock up on bulk groceries, grab a few household essentials, and somehow leave with far more snacks than I ever intended to buy. Over time, though, Costco became much more than a place to buy giant jars of peanut butter and paper towels. I've purchased tires, used Costco for home services, booked travel, and increasingly relied on its pharmacy.

Check your cabinets! A garlic powder sold at discount stores in Canada has been recalled because of possible contamination with bacteria. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced on July 15 that the 70-gram product of the Heavenly Spices brand garlic powder has potentially been exposed to the bacteria Bacillus cereus. The CFIA told consumers, "Do not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product." Bacillus cereus is a type of bacteria that generally causes food poisoning.

American Airlines is making new investments at its DFW International Airport hub, announcing Monday that it will build its largest Admirals Club ever, introduce a new grab-and-go lounge concept for Terminal F and introduce a special check-in process for Flagship customers.
