From Noah Ebije, Kaduna Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has sued the Kaduna State House of Assembly at the Federal High Court in Kadunaover defamation of character following a probe report that indicted him of alleged N423 billion fraud between May 2015 to May 2023. El-Rufai is demanding a public apology from the lawmakers for a report they published, which he claims defamed him and his cabinet.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged Nigerians to verify claims of excellent performance by candidates in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) before awarding scholarships. The registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, gave this advice while interacting with media executives recently. According to him, seeking clarification from the board would prevent fraudulent claims of excellence.

The female students also told Daily Sun the subject combinations required for such courses and are they are aiming to obtain the necessary grades for admission. In an interview with SS1 to SS3 students, both art and commercial students told Daily Sun their choice of courses and reasons for their preference.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) recently approved eight new courses for Christopher University (UNICHRIS), Mowe, Ogun State. The approved programmes are across the nine new departments and two schools. The additional courses are in the School of Allied Health Sciences, B.NSc Nursing, B.Sc Public Health, BMLS Medical Laboratory Science.

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has secured the accreditation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 35 of its academic programmes. It is the largest number of courses to have ever been accredited in the university since its establishment in 2011 in a single accreditation exercise. The university had, between October and December 2023, presented 35 academic programmes to the regulatory body for either accreditation or reaccreditation.
