Missouri football coach Eliah Drinkwitz had positive news to share during his time at the podium during SEC Media Days — star running back Ahmad Hardy has been medically cleared from his gunshot wound. The Mississippi native was struck by gunfire that rang out following an outdoor rap concert at a nightclub in his home state on May 10 and subsequently hospitalized. Hardy spent his high school years at Lawrence County and transferred from Louisiana Monroe to Missouri ahead of the 2025 season.

A reward of up to $100,000 is available for information that would lead to an arrest and conviction in connection with the death of Nolan Wells, civil rights activist Rev. The National Weather Service announced that a tropical depression has formed near the western coast of Florida and is on track to impact South Mississippi. What’s being called Tropical Depression Two for the time being is expected to intensify to Tropical Storm Bertha later on Monday, making it the second named storm of the season after Tropical Storm Arthur. So far, the depression is skirting along the Florida Panhandle heading west.

Only days after Taylor Farms expanded its voluntary recall of lettuce products, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a statement advising people to consider the cyclospora outbreak potentially linked to the California-based produce company a false positive. WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military on Monday identified two soldiers killed in action last week as part of the war with Iran. The Defense Department said in a statement that 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, were killed in Jordan, where they were supporting a U.S. mission against the Islamic State group. It’s unclear how they were killed.
