Whether it's Mickey Mouse going on epic adventures or solid movie tie-ins, Disney has a surprisingly impressive track record when it comes to video games. With this list, we're highlighting our personal favorite Disney video games that have wowed, challenged, and thrilled us over the decades. With such a wide breadth of games across multiple console generations, we're looking at everything from action RPGs to side-scrolling platformers starring beloved Disney characters.

The Sony PlayStation accomplished something no other console could in the 1990s by becoming the first-ever console to sell over 100 million units worldwide. Spider-Man video games have been around for decades, but Spidey's biggest fans knew something different was coming in 2018. "Marvel's Spider-Man" for the PlayStation 4 was as close to a perfect Spider-Man experience as gamers thought they could ever get. Developer Insomniac Games created a story that's on par with some of the best Spider-Man comics, and a gameplay experience that's second to none.

One of the best Marvel video games of all time, "Marvel Rivals" is an online hero shooter that launched toward the end of 2024. The game primarily revolves around teams (either 6v6 or 18v18) populated by Marvel's iconic superheroes and supervillains. Game modes vary from standard deathmatch skirmishes to king of the hill and convoy defense objective-oriented matches.

One of the dominant names in gaming going into the '80s was Atari, which produced titles for both the thriving arcade scene and its own home platforms. Among Atari's major home consoles was the Atari 2600, which remained the company's main platform in the '80s after the ultimate failure of the Atari 5200, its intended successor. Atari was never quite the same after the 2600, for better or worse, nor able to match its library of fan-favorite games.

Ever since 2007, Ubisoft has provided thrilling open-world historical environments for players to explore with its "Assassin's Creed" franchise. The video game series revolves around the Assassin Brotherhood's shadowy war against the Templar Order to steer the course of humanity. Each game is set in a different period in history, ranging from ancient Egypt and the Crusades to the American Revolution and the Viking Age.
