You might have seen me in 1982, riding my Schwinn Varsity bicycle through the streets of Edina with a catcher’s mask hanging from the handlebars and the old-style, outside-foam chest protector slung over my back. Over the years I climbed the ranks of baseball officials, through Little League, then high school and American Legion, then college.
Plowboys hold off Norsemen for 7-6 win
After 11 days off, the Benson Plowboys were finally back in action July 12 when they hit the road to play the Kensington Norsemen. Benson trailed for the first six innings of the game, but took the lead in the seventh inning and secured a 7-6 victory to snap a five game losing skid. Lead Summary Benson/Hancock score 17 in win over Sauk Centre In three games last week, the Benson/Hancock senior legion team picked up one win. They started July 6 on the road against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and were shutout 4-0. Next, Benson/Hancock went to Sauk Centre July 9 and beat the Titans 17-13.
