Kenneth Eugene Wall Kenneth Eugene Wall, of Danvers, Minnesota passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska at the age of 67. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

Alice Brouwer Alice Brouwer, 98, of Montevideo, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at Luther Haven Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home.

Bryan D. Jones March 15, 1957 • November 25, 2025 Bryan Douglas Jones, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend passed away November 25, 2025, at the age of 68. A visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Benson City Cemetery.

Viola Mae Jones August 8, 1929 • January 24, 2026 Viola Mae (Smith) Jones, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law passed away peacefully Saturday, January 24, 2026, at St. Cloud Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. As she came to rest, angels welcomed her into heaven.

You might have seen me in 1982, riding my Schwinn Varsity bicycle through the streets of Edina with a catcher’s mask hanging from the handlebars and the old-style, outside-foam chest protector slung over my back. Over the years I climbed the ranks of baseball officials, through Little League, then high school and American Legion, then college.

After 11 days off, the Benson Plowboys were finally back in action July 12 when they hit the road to play the Kensington Norsemen. Benson trailed for the first six innings of the game, but took the lead in the seventh inning and secured a 7-6 victory to snap a five game losing skid. They started July 6 on the road against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and were shutout 4-0. Next, Benson/Hancock went to Sauk Centre July 9 and beat the Titans 17-13.
