Blog |insightsJune 09, 2026 HP is integrating Tailscale into its Remote System Controller, providing secure access to out-of-band management devices within existing tailnets. Before joining Tailscale, I spent years building and operating infrastructure for large companies, back when “the cloud” mostly meant racks of hardware in datacenters. At one job, a major power event took much of the datacenter offline.

Websites—just websites—can still be pretty amazing. I recently rediscovered the joy of a little page with just one job, thanks to Tailscale Funnel. And all it took was reaching a breaking point with my stupid fridge. By "stupid fridge," I mean a Samsung "SmartThings" refrigerator. My home came with a fridge, the fridge has a screen, and the screen turns on whenever you tap it, open the door, or use the water and ice dispenser.

Tailscale was founded in Canada. We’re a Canadian company that serves users and customers all over the world. That’s why we’re paying close attention to Bill C-22, Canada’s proposed Lawful Access Act, 2026. The bill is Canadian, but the issue is a global trend. Governments around the world are trying to update lawful access rules for the Internet era. Some of those efforts are reasonable.

Aperture CLI builds on Aperture’s goal of making it easy to experiment and build with AI inside organizations while keeping simple, centralized controls in place. While there might be a GPU shortage, there certainly isn’t a shortage of coding agents. Whether it’s Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Droid, Pi, or the next amazing agent harness you just read about on HN, there always seems to be a new one just around the corner.

Sometimes a great Tailscale use case arrives fully formed, simply asking to be documented. Like Bambuddy, a self-hosted tool for controlling Bambu Lab 3D printers locally, that all but walked up to my desk this week. Bambuddy has gained attention as 3D printer maker Bambu Lab makes yet another move that the company frames as security, but a vocal community sees as tighter controls.

Blog |insightsMay 05, 2026 Headlamp is a Kubernetes dashboard I use to get a quick view of what is happening in my clusters. It is lightweight, extensible, and supports OIDC. And configuring it to play nicely with OIDC and RBAC is a real, shall we say, education in Kubernetes. I ran Headlamp as a cluster app and plugged it into Tailscale's tsidp, a tailnet-aware OIDC server. It promised a very clean setup: Tailscale would be the path to the app, the DNS, the HTTPS layer, and the identity provider.
