Prospect list season continued Wednesday with the roll out of FanGraphs’ Top 100 prospect list. The Atlanta Braves had a pair of players make the cut in catcher Shea Langeliers and outfielder Cristian Pache. Langeliers comes in at No. 70 on the list. He is lauded for his defensive ability and improving power that he showed at Double A Mississippi last season.

Talking Chop Archives 2010 - The Braves reached an agreement with 18-year old Dominican shortstop Edward Salcedo to a reported $1.6 million deal. Salcedo will spend six seasons in the minors and will never reach the major leagues. 2011 - The Braves have six players among Baseball America’s Top 100 prospect list. 2012 - Mike Minor tells the Braves that he wants to be traded if he is not in the team’s starting rotation.

Tuesday accounted for the second day of meetings between MLB and the Players Association this week, and once again, we still find ourselves far from the start of the season. MLB and MLBPA met twice today. The first meeting lasted for nearly an hour, and the second meeting of the day consisted of two representatives per side. The union made a few proposals yesterday, regarding arbitration eligibility, draft lottery, and minimum salary.

Representatives from Major League Baseball and the Players Association met again Tuesday at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. Like Monday, several players were on hand for the meetings which began with each side caucusing before coming together for at least two face-to-face sessions. The meeting ended at just after 4 p.m. ET. The Athletic’s Evan Drellich reports that the union’s proposal included some slight tweaks similar to what the league proposed on Monday.

As free agency remains paused due to the ongoing lockout, the free agent status of Freddie Freeman has been a dark cloud hanging over the Atlanta Braves all winter. Before the lockout, there was dialogue of teams being interested but the overall belief was that Freeman and the Braves would eventually come to an agreement that would keep him in Atlanta for the remainder of his career. That point of view may be changing.

FIVE HOURS!!!!! Obviously, Monday’s negotiations were still headlined by how far both sides were part on the major discussion points, including the points that were not even discussed. However, the fact that discussions happened in person, with the amount of players that were also involved, is at least a starting point with negotiations expected to continue today. Of course, the value of yesterday’s length of meeting time means nothing if progress is not made today.
