1 11Shares Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit detectives are asking for the public’s help locating a 75-year-old man who disappeared from Tamarac. George Deshong was last seen around 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, near the 7700 block of Northwest 87th Avenue, according to detectives. Deshong was wearing a dark shirt and dark cargo shorts and riding a black electric bicycle. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs approximately 160 pounds and has brown eyes and gray hair.

During the August 26 meeting, the commission approved an order granting a special application for Duwbu Ballroom & Lounge located at 3104-3108 West Commercial Boulevard. This will allow the space to be used as a hall for hire, or “banquet hall,” in the mixed-use corridor of a shopping plaza. Mona Masse, owner of Duwbu Ballroom & Lounge, presented to the commission. She is leasing suites 3104 and 3108 in 2026 to begin operations.
