EDISON, NJ - On Wednesday, Edison Firefighters responded to a fire at Rivendell Apartment Complex, located on Meandows Drive, following reports of smoke coming from the eaves of the building. Firefighters arrived to discovered a working fire in a second-floor apartment of a two-story residential apartment building, according to the department. Members of B Shift from Engines 4, 6, and 2, Truck 1, Rescue 4, and Car 8 responded to the alarm.

As part of the State Legislature’s annual budget process, Senator Patrick Diegnan and Assemblymen Robert Karabinchak and Sterley Stanley secured $500,000 to support the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County’s programs and initiatives. The state funding is part of New Jersey’s fiscal year 2027 budget and an accompanying supplemental appropriations bill, both of which the Legislature passed and Governor Mikie Sherrill signed into law on June 30.

EDISON, NJ - The township has opened up three cooling centers across Edison as temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees farenheit this week, according to the national weather service. The cooling centers are only for Edison residents beginning Wednesday, July 1, from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM. EDISON, NJ - On Thursday, the township will have a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Edison 250 Playground, followed by the burying of a time capsule to be opened in 2051. The ceremony will be at 11:00 AM the municipal complex, located at 100 Municipal Boulevard.

EDISON, NJ - On Tuesday, the zoning board unanimously denied an application to construct a two-sided digital billboard near Route 287 during a remand hearing. This is the second time the board has denied this application, as they were required to hear the proposal again due to a ruling from the Appellate Court. American Outdoor Advertising Inc. proposed constructing a V-shaped digital billboard at 737 New Durham Road, facing towards Route 287.
