The Question of Patience posted by Roy Schestowitz on Aug 16, 2026 Today we did something for the third time in a week. We had a pleasant stroll around the stadium while the terrible match went on. We didn't know the score and did not want to know, either (no gadgets on us). Next week there will be big crowds in that stadium for the first time since Take That (late June, about 4 evenings/nights). It'll the Bournemouth match and the first league match of Enzo.

GNU/Linux is a Platform for Work (Usage Surges in Daytime)
GNU/Linux is a Platform for Work (Usage Surges in Daytime) posted by Roy Schestowitz on Aug 16, 2026, updated Aug 16, 2026 The world's biggest population, India, has GNU/Linux at ~15% in daytime: There used to be common sayings like, "Linux won't work" or "you can't work with Linux". There's also "Linux isn't for games" or "Linux is too hard". A lot of those things have become myths.
We Need Rain, Not Chatbots
We Need Rain, Not Chatbots posted by Roy Schestowitz on Aug 16, 2026 Europe is drying up and many people are dying. Forecasts say we might get some water (rain) in the coming days, but lots of plants and even lawns are already dead or dying. Europe becomes brown or yellow. Global climate change is a real thing, not some "mere theory" (caused by industrialisation, by human activity), and the slop industry engages in greenwashing [1, 2] while cooking the planet.
