John Legend is stepping outside the formula that has defined much of his career with ‘Muse,’ a new 16-song album produced entirely and co-written by Pharrell Williams. Arriving October 23, the project is the first full album the longtime friends have created together and moves through gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat and hip-hop, with new single “Daylight” offering the first taste. Legend debuted the song with a performance from Nashville during CBS’s ‘America’s Tailgate’ special.

Darius Rucker has released “I Believe,” his first new music since his 2023 album ‘Carolyn’s Boy,’ turning to hope, love and truth for a song he describes as his “love letter to America.” Written by Rucker with Eric Paslay, Wayne Hector and producer Steve Robson, “I Believe” looks at what people hold onto when uncertainty makes optimism difficult, pairing that message with the warm country-pop sound that has defined much of Rucker’s solo career. Max Richter has announced ‘While The Flood Rages,’ a new 15-track album drawn from his latest collaboration with choreographer Wayne McGregor. Arriving October 16, the record grew out of ‘MaddAddam,’ a National Ballet of Canada and Royal Opera House co-commission inspired by Margaret Atwood’s trilogy, but Richter has reworked the music into a standalone listening experience rather than simply releasing the ballet score. Co-produced by Duck Blackwell, Jamie Scott and Mathi Wang, the track almost never came out, but support from artists and industry figures including RAYE and Chlöe Bailey helped push it across the finish line.

Amazon Music Live is changing the way it presents live music for its fifth season. Instead of bringing performers into a studio after Thursday Night Football, the series is hitting the road to broadcast major tour stops from Noah Kahan, Don Toliver, Lainey Wilson and Doja Cat. The music of ‘Wicked’ is moving from the screen to the concert hall in 2027. ‘Wicked: Part One In Concert’ will transform Jon M. Chu’s 2024 film into a live-to-picture experience, with the movie projected on a massive HD screen while orchestras perform Stephen Schwartz’s songs and the cinematic score by John Powell and Schwartz in real time.

All Things Go is expanding its Washington-area lineup less than three weeks before the festival returns to Merriweather Post Pavilion. Remi Wolf, Sierra Ferrell and Underscores have all been added to the 2026 edition, which runs September 25 through 27 and brings three days of pop, indie, Americana and left-field electronic music back to Maryland. Underscores joins the Friday lineup, where Mitski and Ethel Cain sit at the top of the bill.
