SGA Adds Camera Near Spirit Rock
Austin Peay State University’s Spirit Rock, a long-standing campus tradition known for student expression, now has a camera placed nearby. The Spirit Rock, installed in August 2017, was created to give students and organizations an outlet for creativity and a way to show Peay Pride. Located near the corner of Drane Street and Marion Street, the rock has been used for event announcements, messages of support and general campus expression.

APSU students bring Belizean history to life through musical
Austin Peay State University students Alysia Norales and Cameron Tillett are bringing history to the stage through what is believed to be the first ever Belizean musical, based on the real-life story of a woman named Nora. The musical, titled Nora, has been in development for nearly six years and tells the story of Nora Parham, a woman who lived in Belize during British colonial rule and was executed after being accused of killing her abusive husband.
Governors Fall 7-5 at Tennessee Tech
April 9, 2026 On April 7, 2026, the Austin Peay State University baseball team fell 7-5 to Tennessee Tech at Bush Stadium in Cookeville, Tennessee. The game stayed close throughout, but Tennessee Tech did enough in key innings to hold the lead and secure the win. For Austin Peay, the loss showed both effort and missed opportunities. The Govs stayed in the game but could not put together the big inning needed to shift momentum.
Govs Weekly Sports Recap: March 30-April 4
Austin Peay State University athletics had a packed week of competition from March 31-April 4, with multiple teams in action across conference and nonconference matchups. Austin Peay State University’s baseball team, after coming off an Atlantic Sun Conference series win at Central Arkansas, returned to the diamond in Southeastern Conference competition against Tennessee. On Tuesday, March 31, they were outhit by the Volunteers as they fell 13-4.
Austin Peay’s 2026 Football schedule outlook
Austin Peay State University football is preparing for the 2026 season as the United Athletic Conference (UAC) expands to eight teams with the addition of the University of West Florida as a football affiliate. The updated schedule was released April 2, 2026, setting up a competitive slate for the Governors. Austin Peay travels to Pensacola on Sept. 19 to face West Florida in its first meeting as conference opponents. The Governors return home on Oct. 10 to host Tarleton State.
Sigma Chi Hosts 19th Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The Sigma Chi fraternity at Austin Peay State University hosted its 19th annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 4, on the Browning Lawn. There was a strong turnout of kids of all ages ready to hunt for eggs and the chance to win different types of baskets and even a bike. An Easter Bunny also walked around, posing for pictures with attendees.
