Lance Corporal William Goodgame (front) of Camperdown was later killed in New Guinea on Christmas Eve, 1942, aged 23 years. Private Gordon Watkins (second) of Geelong was also killed on Christmas Eve in New Guinea, 1942, aged 22 years. Lieutenant Colonel Charles Stening (third) of Cowell, SA, died in 2002, aged 81 years.
