For theatre-maker and singer-songwriter Joshua Hinton it’s his grandmother’s chicken curry. A Place in the Sultan’s Kitchen (or How to Make the Perfect One-Pot Chicken Curry) at the Sydney Opera House is an engaging and sentimental exploration of Hinton’s family.

The Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs tour will visit Australia in December 2027, with tickets going on sale next week. As Bryan has made his struggles with touring known, an Australian tour has always felt like a far-off dream.

Celebrating 35 years of bringing the world to Adelaide, WOMADelaide has unveiled its first full artist lineup for 2027, returning to Adelaide’s Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from 5–8 March. The festival has always been noted for its rich diversity of music and culture, and 2027 looks set to continue that tradition. British rave pioneers Underworld, known for their classic party anthem “Born Slippy .NUXX” head up the announcement.

Adelaide Film Festival It was all smiles at the Adelaide Film Festival opening night, as dignitaries and guests walked the Pink Carpet at Goodwood’s Capri Cinema. The event featured the Australian premiere of Wild Horse Nine, Martin McDonagh‘s dark comedy starring John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell as two CIA operatives. Malkovich plays Chris, a prickly, terminally ill agent, alongside Rockwell as his longtime partner and friend, Lee.

Leicester’s own alt-rockers, Kasabian, are bringing their “Nothing Better Than This” tour to Australia and New Zealand in February and March next year, with gigs at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Perth’s HPC, alongside appearances in Brisbane at On The Banks Festival, in Christchurch at Electric Avenue, and in Melbourne at Palace Foreshore.

The video game-to-film adaptation has long been a notoriously difficult undertaking.
