It has been over two years since Nathan Banbury was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of Lee Vance, who was found dead at his Bisbee Rd. home. The question that still remains is to determine whether or not Banbury is competent to stand trial for the murder. According to the request for a competency examination request from his attorney Efthymios Katsarelis, Banbury is unable to understand the proceedings against him and cannot assist with his defense.

Former Chief Civil Deputy Attorney Paul Correa was sentenced last week on charges related to his December arrest for evidence tampering after he was found to have deleted videos he recorded of a 12-year-old girl in Target last December. Correa took a plea deal for tampering with physical evidence, a class six felony in May and was sentenced on August 4, to three years of supervised probation and must undergo a mental health evaluation.

The Bisbee City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance that would establish a tourism marketing advisory committee. The council passed the first reading of Ordinance O-26-19, establishing a tourism marketing advisory committee and defining its purpose, membership and duties.
