Pune, 10th September 2026: Water supply to several parts of Pune will remain suspended for today, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carries out urgent electrical and civil maintenance work at various water centres under the Parvati Water Treatment Plant. The PMC’s Water Supply Department has said that supply is likely to resume late on Friday morning, September 11, and may be at low pressure initially.

Authorities have opened an investigation after five orangutans were rescued from a forest in Odisha’s Balasore district. Investigators are said to be focusing on a suspicious black SUV that was recorded on CCTV and seen by local residents. This development follows the rescue of five orangutans from a forest in Odisha just a day earlier.
