By Emeka Nwokocha As political campaigns kick off nationwide, Mr. Nathan Osume, the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for the Delta Central Senatorial seat, has urged his supporters in Delta State to focus strictly on issue-based campaigning. Speaking to journalists today, Osume, who also serves as Executive Director of the Osume Foundation emphasised the urgent need to strengthen Nigeria’s political institutions to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections across Nigeria.

The Deputy Senate President of the 9th Senate and National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central Senatorial Seat in upcoming 2027 election, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has appealed to the people of Uvwie Local Government Area to send him back to the Senate to continue where he stopped for better representation. Omo-Agege made the appeal on Thursday August 21, during his campaign to NDC Wards 1,2&3 in Effurun, Uvwie local government, Delta State.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the appointment of Hon. Chief Henry Afure Sakpra as General Manager of the Delta State Social Investment Programme, with immediate effect. The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu.

Ahead of the 2027 elections, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has alleged that Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwor orchestrated a violent attack against him and his supporters on Thursday, August 21, as he officially kicked off his NDC campaign across Wards 1, 2, and 3, in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State. Omo-Agege made the allegation a day after he also raised alarm over an alleged threat to his life and that of his family and supporters.
