On November 10, 2025, the City of Fredericton approved a licensing agreement for NB Power to install two high-speed electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the York Street Carpark. The downtown upgrade will save the city an estimated $250,000–$300,000 in capital municipal spending, plus $10,000–$20,000 annually in operating costs.

Following separate accidents on September 17th and 19th, two transport truck drivers received traffic offenses after lodging their vehicles under the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge. Another truck struck the bridge on October 17th. These incidents have triggered community discussions.

The UNB REDS women’s swimming team is adding backstroker Olivia Calder to their recruiting class of 2025. The 17-year-old, from Saint John, is completing her Grade 12 year at Simonds High School and has signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent. She’ll join the REDS ahead of the 2025-2026 Atlantic University Sport season. “We’re excited to welcome Olivia to the REDS,” said head coach Marta Belsh. “She brings great experience, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Three of the band’s members were enrolled at UNB: Cal (bass and backup vocals), Margaret (synths and lead vocals), and Miguel (drums). The fourth member, Davi (lead guitar), was still in high school. The band also had a former lead singer, Abby, who united Cal and Margaret, forming Clone Theory, their previous band, when they were in grade 9.
