Arusha. African countries have been warned that their dependence on imported medicines and medical supplies is putting health systems at risk. Prime Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, called for urgent investment in local manufacturing to safeguard access to essential healthcare products during global crises.

Dodoma. The government has set a target of increasing Tanzania’s electricity generation capacity to 8,000 megawatts (MW) by 2030, opening up significant investment opportunities in the energy sector. Deputy Minister for Energy Salome Makamba said on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, that the government was seeking investors with the financial, technological and technical capacity to participate in implementing various energy projects.

Dodoma. The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (Ruwasa) is seeking alternative financing to extend water services to 1,575 villages that remain without access to clean and safe water. The move comes as the government estimates that about Sh5 trillion is required to meet the country’s remaining water infrastructure needs, leaving a financing gap of approximately Sh3 trillion.

Young Africans (Yanga) have signed a Sh5.5 billion contract with Chinese construction company Group Six for the development of a 12-storey commercial building at the junction of Mafia and Nyamwezi streets in Kariakoo.
