XDefiant has gone from strength to strength since its release, becoming one of the top Ubisoft IPs and a competitor to the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield. With Season 1 now in full swing, both players and the game are finding their groove with Ubisoft releasing frequent updates to the game. Ubisoft has announced that the latest XDefiant update will be coming on August 28th and has released the patch notes ahead of time.

Video game preservation is a hotly debated topic, with many titles being lost to time as publishers remove them from digital platforms while making no effort to keep them accessible by gamers both today and in the future. Two more titles are set to join the ever-growing list of titles that players can no longer access, with The Suffering and its sequel leaving digital platforms next month.

Ever since the game launched in 2023, players have been patiently waiting for the announcement that Final Fantasy 16 will be coming to PC. That day has finally come as Square Enix has officially announced the PC port of the game, and players don’t have long to wait. It has been revealed that Final Fantasy 16 will be coming to PC in just four weeks on September 17th, 2024 on both Steam and Epic Games Store.

It came as a huge surprise when Capcom and GOG dropped the Resident Evil trilogy bundle out of nowhere after the community had been begging the publisher for years to bring the games back. Initially, only the original 1996 Resident Evil game was available to download, with plans to release the remaining two entries throughout the rest of the year.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is almost here and it will be another Marvel-themed season, which is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated seasons that we’ve seen in some time. Mobile users also have reasons to be excited because Fortnite is set to officially return to mobile devices for the first time in four years. To celebrate this exciting news, Epic Games is releasing an exclusive free skin, unfortunately, it will only be available to European players for now.

It came as a shock to many when in May 2024 Microsoft announced that Tango Gameworks, the studio behind Hi-Fi Rush, would be shut down alongside other Bethesda-owned studios including Arkane Austin and Alpha Dog Studios. Although it didn’t see major success when it came to sales, largely due to the day-one inclusion on Xbox Game Pass, Hi-Fi Rush was critically acclaimed, scoring an impressive 90% on Metacritic.

Netherealm Studios is wasting no time when it comes to bringing the next set of Fighters to Mortal Kombat 1. Following the release of Takahashi Takeda on July 23rd, Kombat Pack 2 has already been announced along with a new story expansion titled Khaos Reigns.

During the EVO 2024 Tekken 8 Finals tournament, the Tekken series producer and director, Katsuhiro Harada announced that the third character that will be coming to the game as part of the Year 1 Pass, is none other than Heihachi Mishima. Heihachi has been a key character throughout the Tekken series, being the main antagonist of the series, feuding with his son and grandson Kazuya and Jin. He is also the head of Mishima Zaibatsu and the host of the King of Iron Fist Tournaments.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Wisdom was a surprise announcement during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. Following the release of Breath of the Wild, Link’s Awakening, and Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo’s current platform, a fourth title so close to the launch of the next console seemed extremely unlikely. But, Nintendo looks to be going out with a bang before the rumored Switch 2 that could be released as soon as early 2025.
