(Cameron Levasseur | The County) The city of Caribou has owned a 23-acre expanse of grass and gravel off Brook Street for the better part of two decades. Next to a handful of houses that dot an east-west state route, the lot primarily serves as a snow dump for the city’s public works department.
Danforth entrepreneurs ‘bought themselves a job’ when they moved to rural Maine

(Chris Bouchard | The County) MADAWASKA, Maine – Madawaska is in the middle of a major project to renovate its midtown plaza, a widely visible area on Main Street which will contain multiple new developments. Brent Bridges of Woodard & Curran on Wednesday updated officials about the work, which is expected to be fully completed in early 2028.
How an Aroostook shelter is giving dogs a fighting chance of adoption
The Houlton Humane Society is working with dog trainer Tyler Jones to help shelter dogs have a better chance at successful adoptions. Jones is getting to know Barkley one of the shelter's dogs. Traffic and drug charges top June’s Aroostook grand jury indictments
HOULTON, Maine — The Aroostook County grand jury handed up 29 indictments for June, topped by traffic and drug violations. An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an indication that there is enough evidence in a case to move forward with a trial. The grand jury indicted the following. Jessica J.
