The Ninth Circuit ruled Friday that Kalshi's sports event contracts are not swaps under the Commodity Exchange Act, clearing the way for Nevada to enforce its gaming laws against the prediction market. The decision turns on a single question with large commercial stakes: if the contracts are swaps, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has exclusive jurisdiction over them and states are locked out. Aave V4 Deposits Reach $806 Million After 30% Weekly Gain
EtherFi Cash was V4’s second-largest market at $257 million, while Aave V3 retained a much larger $31 billion deposit base. DeFi Aave’s live onchain dashboard listed V4 user deposits at $806 million. Deposits jumped by 30% over seven days and reached a new all-time high above $800 million. The latest reading extends a steep August climb. Aave announced that V4 deposits crossed $500 million on Aug. 19 and $600 million on Aug. 21, before moving above $800 million six days later.
StarkWare Says it Confirmed a Quantum Safe Bitcoin Transaction on Mainnet
StarkWare said a Bitcoin transaction using its Quantum Safe Bitcoin, or QSB, design was mined on mainnet without changing Bitcoin’s consensus rules. The transaction 305a24ff…ab07 was confirmed in block 964,199 on Aug. 26. Blockstream’s record shows that it combined 39,179- and 10,000-satoshi inputs, created one 44,000-satoshi output and paid a 5,179-satoshi fee. The transaction was 1,403 bytes.
