Patricia Diane Sullivan Smith, 56, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away Monday, July 27, 2026. Tricia attended Wesley Chapel Church in Pikeville. She was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and was currently employed at Mann Hummel in Dunlap, Tennessee. Tricia loved to yard sale, thrift shop…she was always looking for a good bargain and spend time with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with and spoiling her great nieces and nephews.

Two awards were presented to The Dunlap Tribune recently at the Universityof Tennessee System-TPA Tennessee State Press Contest Awards Luncheon. The combined work of Nathan Hickey, reporter, and Publisher Sandy Dodson was recognized as a third place winner for Public Service reporting. The award was for the newspaper’s coverage of the fate of the emergency room in Sequatchie County whether the contract would continue with Erlanger Health System or be awarded to Parkridge Health System.

Email ← Back The Wilson-Kelly Farm in the Elm Hill area of Sequatchie County was purchased in 1899 and with its long history, was recognized as both a Sequatchie County Heritage Farm and Tennessee Century Farm on July 24.

James Kelly McWilliams, 86, of Dunlap, passed away July 24, 2026 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Thelma Kelly McWilliams; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Allen and Edna Layne; brother-in-law, Allen Bryant Layne; nephew, Joshua Layne; and grandson, Malcolm Hall. Kelly was a lifelong resident of the Elm Hill Community in Sequatchie County with his wife, Roma, of 58 years until her passing in 2018. He was a 1958 graduate of Sequatchie County High School.

It is with great sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Joyce Ann Newman, who left us on July 25, 2026. Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, thrifting, going to yard sales, and starting new projects around her house. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe “Roy” Newman and Estle Sims Newman, and her brother, Barry Newman.

Kathy Diane Ake, 69, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, took her final earthly breath on July 21, 2026, as she was met with the arms of her loving Savior. She was born on March 13, 1957, and raised in Dunlap, Tennessee. Diane worked as a boilermaker for more than 20 years, a career she was proud of and where she met her husband, James Ake. Together they shared 23 wonderful years of marriage and built many lasting friendships along the way.

Vivian C. Boyd, 78, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Burturm and Gilliam Britton Jr.; sister, Sharon Dishman; brother Kevin Burtum.

On Sunday, July 26, additional supplies were made available plus free haircuts, clothing, and shoes by various businesses and individuals in the community.
