Our Chair, Debbie Hewitt MBE, and CEO, Mark Bullingham, joined HRH The Prince of Wales and The Royal Foundation at the launch of a new suicide prevention toolkit, ‘On Your Side’. We are one of over a dozen sports organisations, including the Premier League and Team GB, that have signed up to become champions of the toolkit, and Debbie and Mark joined leaders from throughout the sporting world at Everton FC’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on Thursday 10 September, World Suicide Prevention Day.

The match will be shown live on BBC iPlayer, Red Button, BBC Football’s YouTube channel, and the BBC Sport website BBC Sport has selected the Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying tie between Redcar Town and Darlington for live broadcast coverage. The Women's FA Cup second round qualifying draw has been made, with 95 ties to be played on Sunday 20 September 2026. Winning clubs at this stage are set to collect £3,500 from the competition prize fund, and teams who exit in this round will receive £1,000. Wigan Athletic kept their cool during a close penalty shootout against Chester to ensure their Women’s FA Cup journey continued in the first qualifying round. The Latics drew 2-2 at the final whistle, Ciara Lee opened Chester’s account after three minutes before Kira Saycell and Avilla Bergin scored in the second half to see Wigan take the lead. Katie Kelso levelled the tie for Chester with 12 minutes remaining to ensure it went to penalties.

Debutants AFC Greenwich Borough secured a thrilling comeback win to advance to the Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying, with a 4-3 triumph over Sittingbourne. Stefan Payne had opened the scoring away to the Brickies only for the hosts to take a 2-1 advantage into the break. Harry Revill rescued Greenwich, with two goals in the space of 10 minutes before Stefan Payne scored the winner in the 91st minute.

Second round qualifying fixtures will take place on Saturday 12 September 2026 There will be 40 ties in the FA Trophy second round qualifying, following the draw on Tuesday. After the weekend's games in the first round qualifying, clubs will now turn their attention to the next round which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 12 September 2026. Winning clubs at this stage will receive £2,250 from the competition prize fund, with the losing teams collecting £575.
