FSA members are being invited to participate in a climate crisis research project with the University of Brighton and University of Loughborough at the Brentford Community Stadium this September. As the climate crisis continues to worsen, the project aims to explore how football fans can be engaged in climate action. This project will look at potential ways to empower FSA fan members to share their ideas and perspectives on climate communication and action in football.

Following their defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals, England are now heading to Miami to take on France in the third-place play-off match.

The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) has issued its first warning notice, to the owners of Morecambe FC, for failing to respond to their requests for information about the running of the club. Clubs have a legal requirement to comply with requests from the IFR, and this marks the first time that the IFR have taken action in this way since they came into being last year.

The much-anticipated Hillsborough Law has finally passed the House of Commons this week and takes another step towards achieving Royal Assent.

Non-league and community-owned clubs will be coming together this week to shine a light on mental health as part of the "Better Together" weekend. Running from this Friday 17th July to Sunday 19th at Croft Park - the home of Blyth Spartans in Northumberland - the event will feature a networking event for non-league clubs and mental health service providers, followed by a friendly tournament between five community-owned clubs.

Supporter representatives from the women's game met with senior officials from the FA at Wembley Stadium in January to discuss a range of issues with the Lionesses and FA Women's National League. The meeting took place under the auspices of the Football Supporters' Association as part of the FA's commitment to fan engagement. England are through to the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup and now head back to Atlanta to take on Argentina - and our Free Lions Fans' Embassy guide to the fixture is out now. The Three Lions play Argentina in the last four at the much-liked Mercedes-Benz Stadium (referred by FIFA as the Atlanta Stadium for the duration of the tournament) on Wednesday 15th July and we'll have a Fans' Embassy on hand before the match to help England fans at the fixture.

England progressed to the quarter finals following one of the games of the tournament against host nation Mexico. Our Fans' Embassy team now head to Miami and the latest Free Lions fanzine is out now. England will face Norway on Saturday at the Miami Stadium - also home to the NFL's Miami Dolphins where it's known as the Hard Rock Stadium. It's roughly 15 miles north of downtown Miami.

UEFA has expressed its "disbelief" at FIFA's "unprecedented, incomprehensible and unjustifiable" decision to suspend USA's Folarin Balogun's suspension ahead of the World Cup quarter final match between the host nation and Belgium. Reports suggest that US president Donald Trump lobbied FIFA to overturn Balogun's red card and football's world "governing" body capitulated. The White House's Twitter/X feed did little to dispel such rumours.
