The life and legacy of Benny Strazi (Coach Strazi) was honored at the Saint Joseph Catholic School Homecoming game this past month. His wife of over five decades, Sharon Strazi, was brought to the center of the field to participate in the honorary coin toss before the beginning of the game. Coach Strazi spent over two decades at Saint Joseph Catholic School, serving in many different capacities. His most memorable role there was athletic director.

But yes, much of the time it impersonates her mother (Jessica Chastain).

Beverly Nolan Alexander Memorial services for Beverly Nolan Alexander, age 88, were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Leland. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church. Beverly was received by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as she entered her eternal home on September 9, 2026. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland, Mississippi. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Our House, Inc. will hold its monthly SOS (Safe Online Space) for Healing Conversations monthly anonymous support chatroom group on Monday, October 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. This month’s discussion topic is “Resilience: How to Bounce Back.” The chatroom provides a safe, anonymous space for individuals impacted by sexual violence. Meetings take place on a secure, no-track platform and include guided, non-triggering conversations.

by Robb Hicks During National Newspaper Week, we should all ask what would happen if our local newspaper suddenly disappeared. Our community would lose more than headlines. We would lose the public record of who voted for what, how tax dollars were spent and which promises were kept. We would lose the watchdog that asks the hard questions.

Gracie Scarborough was crowned the 2026 Homecoming Queen for Deer Creek School on September 18, 2026. Saleah Hardy was crowned the 2026 Homecoming Queen for Saint Joseph Catholic High School on September 25, 2026.

With all of the enormous changes in this country and media since 1776, it’s noteworthy that more than 5,000 newspapers are still informing their communities about what their leaders are doing and how those actions affect them.

The film’s advertising is clearly positioning it as a successor to last year’s hit front-of-the-bookstore novel adaptation “The Housemaid,” though it is based on a book that predates that film’s source material by four years.
