July 8, 2026 What Fruits Are Growing at My Farm? It's looking like a strong year for fruits here at my farm - the trees and bushes are full! Fresh fruit is one of nature's most delicious products. This season, we've already picked many raspberries, strawberries, and currants, but all the others - the blueberries, peaches, apricots, plums, apples, and pears are developing so nicely. I have an orchard full of more than 200 different fruit trees.

July 7, 2026 Planting Succulents in Faux Bois Containers I have always loved succulents. With their fleshy leaves and extraordinary forms, succulents are easy to maintain and make excellent container plants - I have quite a few of these popular specimens in my collection. During a heavy rainstorm that lasted all of yesterday, my head gardener, Ryan McCallister, planted a selection of succulents in two of my faux bois planter boxes.

July 6, 2026 Replacing the Windows on My Stable Are you getting all your outdoor home projects done this summer? Here at my farm, one of this year's big tasks includes replacing the double-pane windows on several buildings that have suffered damage over the years. During the last several weeks, the crew from Heritage Fabrications in Greenwich, Connecticut, has been making the necessary repairs.

July 3, 2026 A Semiquincentennial Celebration Entertaining at my farm is always so much fun, especially when I host momentous occasions. Last weekend, I partnered with the Friends of John Jay Homestead to host a remarkable Semiquincentennial celebration, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The event also honored John Jay and the restoration of his historic home here in Bedford. I hope you saw some of the photos on my Instagram page @marthastewart48.

July 2, 2026 Preparing the Farm to Celebrate the Nation's Semiquincentennial Preparing for any special gathering takes a lot of effort, time, and advanced planning. I'm sure many of you have seen the photos on my Instagram page @marthastewart48. Last weekend the Friends of John Jay Homestead joined me in hosting a spectacular celebration of our nation’s Semiquincentennial, honoring the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

July 1, 2026 Keeping My Gardens Well Watered with Gilmour The next few days are expected to bring record heat with temperatures reaching up to 100-degrees Fahrenheit. In this weather, it takes a lot of close monitoring to stay on top of watering tasks here at my farm. During these warm months, I use a number of hoses and sprinklers to keep the many trees, shrubs, and plants well irrigated. One of my favorite sources is Gilmour, a company that’s been manufacturing watering equipment since 1949.

June 30, 2026 Pruning My Hornbeam Hedges 2026 It's that time of year again when the hornbeam hedges around my farm are pruned and groomed. Every summer, my outdoor grounds crew trims the hornbeam hedges in front of my main greenhouse - the large sculpted hedge across the carriage road and the hornbeam hedges surrounding part of my formal Martha Stewart Rose gardens. The English hornbeam, Carpinus betulus, is a fast-growing deciduous tree. It can grow about four to five feet per year.

June 29, 2026 Late June Chores Around My Farm Rain or shine, chores have to be done each and every day. Here at my farm, my gardeners, housekeepers, stable team, and outdoor grounds crew are constantly working off a running list of important tasks.

June 27, 2026 My Living Maze My three acre living maze is planted. In 2022 I decided to create a maze of hedges, espaliers, and shrubs in the pasture across the carriage road from my Winter House terrace. A living maze is a puzzle of tall plantings - tall enough to prevent those walking through from seeing the paths ahead. The maze includes rows, openings, and various dead ends, but only one true route leading to the center. The course was planted according to a very detailed map I designed.

June 26, 2026 Close to Finishing My Living Maze I'm getting close to finishing my living maze, and it's looking better and better with the planting of each row. This maze, which I started in the spring of 2022, is filled with lush perennials and evergreens - arborvitae, cedar, holly, juniper, yew, birch, spruce,  linden, London plane, and many more. I've planted a variety of different trees, shrubs, espaliers, and hedges to add texture and interest.
