The New Current started out as a music website that offered unique interviews and reviews from bands all over the world. Through using MYSPACE we connected with bands and singers who wanted their music to be heard. What made TNC unique was that we didn't take a penny from acts, big or small, who wanted us to review, feature or for interview. This gave TNC a great edge and we set out to create an arts and culture website that provided a unique and unrestricted voice within the arts. TNC has grown to include film, television, theatre, literature and art. The Importance of Being Earnest
For a moment, we can gloss over the seeming trivialities of marriage being the only thing a young lady can look forward to; if we pause, inside the farce, there is something pretty special. For Gwendolen and Cicely, marriage is a sense of freedom and offers them a type of independence that they currently don’t have. Gwendolen’s independence is curtailed by her domineering mother, and with Jack comfortably set up in the country, this is a match that allows her the best chance of freedom.

Did this inclusion of your father impact the journey of the piece? It was interesting how their stories diverged for the first part of their lives, from the moment they met and got married, the transcripts are almost the same. They talk about all the same stuff, but from different perspectives. I had the idea that Benedict would play my dad at some point and then started cutting a version of all the transcripts where we turned the interviews into a of stream of consciousness monologue.

Costume changes are done at either side of the stage and yet remain surprising throughout. The tightly choreographed movement within the show means any major slip can hugely impact the flow they've created.
