Security at the Sarnia Transit building is in line for an upgrade this year. Fencing probably dating back to the early 1970s when the Michener Road complex was built is being replaced, said Mike Berkvens, director of engineering with the City of Sarnia. “It’s getting quite old and the fencing is starting to deteriorate,” he said. Plans are also to put in automatic gates with secure access for buses, he said. There’s been $75,000 budgeted for the project, going to tender in the spring, he said.
