Heath McCormick of Sarnia had to settle for second place at the U.S. Olympic curling team trials. McCormick lost to John Shuster 7-5 in Game 3 of the best-of-three men's final Saturday in Omaha., Neb. Shuster, of Superior, Wis., will represent the United States at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. He's the first American male curler to make four Olympic teams. McCormick, who was born in Lansing, Mich., won Game 1 in the final Thursday and lost 9-4 in Game 2 on Friday.
