Bestfriend is Stacy Kim and Kaelan Geoffrey, a Canadian duo who started making music together in 2018 after meeting through mutual friends and Instagram DMs. What began as a bi-coastal, long-distance project (Stacy writing and producing from Vancouver, Kaelan from Toronto) has grown into a collaboration built on connection, storytelling, and dreamy pop production.

There’s an undeniable spark when The Bankes Brothers take the stage—a mix of raw energy, tight musicianship, and the kind of chemistry that only comes from growing up together. Hailing from Victoria, BC, the band quickly built a name for themselves with their high-energy live shows, and timeless rock ‘n’ roll spirit – with a modern indie edge.

With dreamy 90’s indie girl vibes, BIPOC artist Ahshï delivers all the feels while painting pictures with her music. Inspired by her heritage, she sheds light on life as an Asian Canadian through her songs and represents her family in her artist image. We get to know the real and authentic Ahshï as she plays our heartstrings, sharing her songs of love, heartbreak, death, and growing up, but all with a new perspective. When she’s on stage, you can expect a quirky, funny, and brilliant show.

What’s the secret behind a long history of successful sibling bands? Vulnerability. Sisters Kate and Lauren Kurdyak take this to heart with Vox Rea, a project defined by its intimate portrayal of the complexities of the human experience. Raised in Vancouver, BC, they spent their childhood learning music from their grandmother, a piano teacher, librarian and choir conductor who planted the seeds for a lifelong obsession with the arts. In 2022, Vox Rea released their eponymous album.

Before her performance at the Commodore on May 9th, LIGHTS treated some listeners with an intimate, acoustic performance in our PEAK Lounge on April 17th. The Canadian icon indulged the audience with a sneak peek of her then-unreleased album, ‘A6’, including ‘WHITE PAPER PALM TREES’ and ‘ALIVE AGAIN’.

The self-described ‘feral island kid’ imparts wisdom on 20 years of releasing music, new album ‘Nostalgia’, and drops some down-to-earth insight on staying together, putting people before your own ego, and the “total symphony” of everyday life – “if you learn to hear it that way”.
