Hundreds of ‘cyclosporiasis’ cases confirmed nationwide The Georgia Department of Public Health is urging Georgians to take extra precautions when purchasing, preparing and consuming fresh fruits and vegetables to help prevent cyclosporiasis, a gastrointestinal disease caused by a parasite. The department said it was not aware of “any Georgia-specific outbreaks, clusters or potential links to the outbreak” as of Monday.

When you buy almost anything at those big-box stores these days, it seems the question is, “Would you like the extended warranty?” I’m going to start asking my own question: “What is your definition of warranty?” Bill O’Reilly, the former Fox News anchor, has a saying that he begins many segments with. “I’m a simple man.” So am I. Two questions: What is a warranty? And, why don’t they work? Let me explain.

A name few of us recognize is John V. N. Dorr. It is not because he left this earth in 1962, nor because he was born in New Jersey, nor because his mentor was Thomas Edison. Betty Jean Taylor Hornsby, age 92, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
