By Thomas Harrington The Anaheim Ducks surprised the hockey world by selecting Beckett Sennecke third overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He rewarded that selection with a wonderful rookie season that saw him nominated for the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie. Sennecke spent the entire year in the NHL, suiting up for all 82 games for the Ducks, one of three players to do that for Anaheim this past season. He scored 23 goals, 37 assists, and 60 points.
Graduated Prospect: Tim Washe
By Thomas Harrington The Anaheim Ducks signed undrafted forward Tim Washe in April of last year. Before signing with the Ducks, Washe played at Western Michigan University for five seasons. He was their captain in his final season of NCAA hockey, helping lead them to the NCAA Championship. This season he played in both the NHL and AHL. Washe started the year in San Diego, and was the team’s third line center, taking the spot left open by Nathan Gaucher’s early season injury.
Ducks Match Carlsson Offer Sheet
By Michael Walters The Anaheim Ducks announced today they matched the offer sheet from Philadelphia for Leo Carlsson. The deal is worth $90 over five years and carries a $18 million AAV. Carlsson is now the highest paid player in the NHL. On July 3rd, the Philadelphia Flyers submitted an offer sheet and Carlsson signed it. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Carlsson camp tried to work out a deal with a $15 million AAV that morning before signing the offer sheet.
Offer Sheet Heard Around The World
By Michael Walters On July 3rd the news broke an offer sheet was submitted for Leo Carlsson from the Philadelphia Flyers, which was a five-year deal worth $90 million with a $18 million AAV. Today the Anaheim Ducks General Manager Pat Verbeek matched the offer sheet. It was a wild ride this past week and we break it all down on the show. We discuss the cap implications and how the Ducks should proceed moving forward.
Graduated Prospect: Ian Moore
By Thomas Harrington The Anaheim Ducks selected defenseman Ian Moore in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, 67th overall. After being drafted, he spent a year in the USHL and then four years at Harvard University in the NCAA. He was Harvard’s captain for his final two seasons. At the end of the 2024-2025 season, he turned pro, playing for both the Ducks and Gulls. This past season, he played a handful of games in San Diego, but spent a majority of that time in the NHL.
Mintyukov Signs Extension With Anaheim
By Michael Walters Pavel Mintyukov signed a 5-year extension with the Anaheim Ducks with a $7.2 million AAV per multiple reports. His agent Dan Milstein later confirmed the contract extension. The Anaheim Ducks eventually confirmed the contract extension. It was a roller coaster of a ride to get to this extension in the past couple of days. On July 3rd several teams approached Mintyukov’s agent about an offer sheet according to Puck Pedia.

This summer, I’ll be starting with the profiles for prospects that Anaheim has acquired over the past year. First up is the recently acquired forward Anton Wahlberg. The Anaheim Ducks traded for Wahlberg from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenseman Olen Zellweger.
Ducks Sign Jensen, Malott, Woo, and Brossoit + More
By Michael Walters Today the Anaheim Ducks signed free agents defenseman Nick Jensen, Jett Woo, Corey Schueneman, and Travis Mitchell. They signed forwards Jeff Malott and forward James Hamblin. Lastly, they signed goalie Laurent Brossoit, Anaheim did also sign RFA Judd Caulfield today. They also signed A.J. Greer yesterday, who they recently acquired his rights from Florida.

Anaheim Acquires Rights To Noah Philp From Carolina

Carolina General Manager Eric Tulsky announced the team reacquired the rights to Kyle Masters and sent Anaheim the rights to Noah Philp in return. Masters was originally part of the trade for John Carlson‘s rights last Saturday. Carolina sent the rights of Kyle Masters and the 192nd overall pick in the 2026 draft to Anaheim.
