Ninestar files $470 million claim against PAG
Ninestar has filed a $470 million (€432 million) lawsuit against PAG Asia Capital in a Chinese court, escalating a bitter dispute over control of printer maker Lexmark and deepening a cross-border legal battle that already includes arbitration in Hong Kong. The group said the Zhuhai Intermediate People’s Court had accepted its claim this week, in which it accuses PAG of abusing shareholder rights and forcing decisions that damaged the value of Lexmark during a period of acute commercial pressure.
Hubei Dinglong reinforces commitment to toner business
Hubei Dinglong has clarified that its retreat from printer consumables will not extend to its toner business, underscoring a more selective restructuring than previously indicated. In a customer update, the Chinese materials group said it was divesting from finished cartridge operations, including Mito, ReTech and Speed, while continuing to invest in upstream production such as bulk toner and carrier materials.

UK IPO amplifies ICCE message on counterfeit cartridges
The UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has issued a warning on counterfeit ink and toner cartridges, in a move developed in cooperation with the Imaging Consumables Coalition of EMEA (ICCE). In a blog published on 12 March 2026, the IPO highlighted the risks posed by fake consumables, citing estimates that the global trade in counterfeit goods is worth around $467 billion.
