We’d like for you to meet Ford Modeling Agency’s Global Digital Director, Georgia Makely-Schraeder. With a penchant for nineties-meets-seventies style and voluminous hair, we first became enamoured when we spotted her IG account.

If you like us, are a Toronto based resident, you may spend most of your shopping hours on Bloor Street. Home to the iconic Canadian department store Holt Renfrew’s flagship store, Chanel, Dior and a mega-sized Sephora, a day spent on Bloor Street West is a day spent in shopping heaven. Now, a new flagship has popped up on the busy street; a store we didn’t realize we needed until we stepped foot inside to shop. The new kid on the aforementioned block ladies and gentleman, is alexanderwang.

Yes spring has only just sprung, but the fall/winter shows are still fresh in our minds. Before we move on to florals and lighter fabrics, give us a minute to preemptively get excited for fall fashion and all that 2023 will have to offer. After all, we only have now have begun to digest and take in all that we spotted on the runways. After the last few seasons of Instagram ready accessories and designer logos splashed everywhere, this seasons shows had a breath of fresh air to them.

Ok, so it snowed in our city yesterday, but we’re not here to focus on the negatives. Instead, we’re looking onward and upwards and claiming with enthusiasm that spring has indeed sprung. In preparation for Spring temperatures, we’re getting our skin Spring ready with our favourite body lotions and balms. Harsh winter temperatures and dry air pumped through our apartment heating units have left our skin in pretty horrible states.

We’re always on the hunt for inspiration, but sometimes we run dry. On one particular occasion, we decided to visit the Kimpton Saint George Hotel for a staycation in our home town in search of some much needed inspo. It only took one night at the art-focused hotel that pays homage to the city it’s in.

Sure the finale of the Amazon Prime show aired a few weeks ago, but we’re still not over Daisy Jones and the Six. Consider us inspired. Inspired to add more suede and fringe into our wardrobes. Inspired to stare moodily out the window on rainy days.

As a female-lead business ourselves, we at The Strategy love to celebrate women in all their glory. We try not to limit it to just one day. Instead, for the last few years, we’ve been turning the focus onto some of our most inspiring female founders and CEOs in our The Future is Female series. For this International Women’s Day, we’d like to highlight these women once again – women who took a chance and created their own successful ¬†empires. Women whose stories we thoroughly admire.

February marks Black History Month. We’re ending the month with our favourite Black-owned beauty brands. These brands are ones that belong on your top shelf and are brands that have created products Team TS simply cannot live without. They’ve filled niches’ in the beauty industry, like radically improving shade range standards, and changed the conversation around natural hair and haircare. We don’t want to spotlight them during just one month of the year.
