The Thriller Mind of Steven Konkoly

I should have written this post earlier in the month, because that’s when my unique ordeal with COMING DAWN (Devin Gray 2) began…but my publisher started most of the discounts half-way through the month, and I didn’t want to hit you with two emails back to back. Keep reading or skip ahead for the deals! Some of you know this story already, so I’ll keep it short. AND if you haven’t read COMING DAWN or any of the Devin Gray books, there’s a significant series spoiler ahead.

2022 was my busiest year in quite a while. Three book releases: DEEP SLEEP (January), VINDICTA-Black Flagged 6 (June) and COMING DAWN (October ). To say that juggling these three releases proved to be a challenge would be an understatement. VINDICTA was supposed to be an “easy” 3 month project…which turned into 6 months! Well worth it from my perspective…and well received by readers. Another huge thank you to Black Flagged fans for being so patient.

Before the year ends, I wanted to revisit the something that has weighed heavily on me for a number of months. The untimely passing of Matthew Mather, one of the most talented science fiction and techno thriller writers I’ve had the privilege of knowing—and one of the founders of DISCOVER SCI-FI, an collective of authors I’ve been a part of for several years. I have a quick pitch for you, which some or many of you might find interesting.

A quick hit before the “official” holiday season kicks into full gear. I don’t know about you, but I’m already feeling the pinch. Lights are up. Tree is up (still undecorated). Gifts are purchased. AND time is short! My publisher officially released the cover and book description for the third and final book (for now) in the Devin Gray Series. Scroll toward the bottom for the cover and description! When I started writing this series, we didn’t know if it would go to three books.

Before I turn my attention to family, home and the American Thanksgiving tradition—and vanish for a little while—I have a quick favor to ask.
