On Aug. 30, Jacob Bridgeman ended his best season on the PGA Tour after tying for fourth at the Tour Championship. Looking back at the season, Bridgeman exceeded expectations, yet many thought there was more to come after an early win at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club. The former ACC Player of the Year held a six-shot lead over Rory McIlroy heading into Sunday at the Genesis Invitational. Still, he only had one top-10 finish in between then and the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

The Cerus Quartet was welcomed with open arms at Clemson University’s Brooks Theatre when they opened the Brooks Center’s 2026-27 season on Sept. 3. For their first visit and performance at Clemson, the musicians provided the audience with beautiful and chilling music that displayed the saxophone quartet’s impressive capabilities and passion for music.

Clemson alumnus Travis Etienne Jr., amidst his recent offseason signing with the New Orleans Saints, might be on the verge of making a massive leap in talent within a new system in 2026. The 2018 national champion running back will be a clear-cut RB1 in the Bayou to begin the year, with an MCL sprain sidelining Alvin Kamara.

“I didn’t know they’d be that dysfunctional on offense.” Those were the exact words LSU head coach Lane Kiffin used after Clemson’s season opener to describe the lackluster performance put on by the Tigers in orange. But for anyone who has watched Clemson football since the turn of the decade, the offensive product to kick off the season has not been a sight for sore eyes. From 2009 to 2020, Clemson went 11-1 in season openers, with the lone loss coming in 2014 against Georgia.

Following an offensive onslaught in which Clemson allowed 644 yards in a blowout loss to LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the Tigers will be getting some help on the defensive side of the ball. Vic Burley, who was suspended indefinitely from the Clemson football team on Aug. 22, will be reinstated to the team soon, per reports from TigerNet and The Clemson Insider. On his radio show on Monday, head coach Dabo Swinney stated, “Burley, we brought him back today … He will not play this weekend.

Over Labor Day weekend, Clemson volleyball hosted the annual Clemson Invitational in its very own Jervey Gym. Following freshman Maddie Anspaugh’s 20-kill performance against Western Carolina, the Tigers’ underclassmen entered the invitational with the same offensive aggression as their experienced returners, helping the team secure a 3-0 record for the weekend. The Tigers first welcomed UNC Greensboro on Sept. 4 with an easy 3-1 win.

Following the departure of assistant coach Nick Schnabel, Clemson baseball head coach Erik Bakich has found his replacement: Tyler Smarslok. “Right now, as we are looking to get the best person available, I am looking at guys who specialize on both sides,” Bakich said while the search was still underway for a new assistant. Smarslok’s resume includes MLB experience with three professional organizations.

Picture this for a moment: classes have kicked back into full gear, there are multiple assignments on your slate to tackle at once and you feel a bit isolated as a student in your time at Clemson so far. Perhaps the isolation is because you haven’t met people you feel certain you click with, or maybe you’re finding yourself yearning for spiritual growth. It’s been a while since any Clemson fan has heard the name Marquise Henderson, but this past weekend changed that for most. On Aug. 29, the former Tiger went off in his collegiate debut for Samford, logging a game-high five catches for 151 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 22-10 season-opening loss to North Alabama.

The calendar flipped its page with optimism that Clemson would recover from a disappointing season the year before. But a humid night in Baton Rouge, one that Clemson fans would hope to forget, wrote itself into the history books with the same tone of disappointment.
