By Sarah Sternhagen, Editor-in-Chief Police made an arrest in connection with a self-inflicted shooting that happened late Thursday night at Towson University in dormitory Glen Tower C. A man discharged a weapon and suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body. Police said the man was transported to a nearby hospital with no life-threatening injuries. Officers determined the man shot himself “during the commission of a robbery.” There were no other injuries.
By Jayden Gonsalves, Staff Writer Towson University’s Student Government Association announced the elected members for the 106th administration Thursday night. Rayne Rivera-Forbes was elected SGA president with 1,089 votes, Kevin Ferrell as vice president with 1,080 votes, Kamari Williams as treasurer with 1,006 votes and Jalyn Hayes-Moore as attorney general with 1,106 votes. The results were announced at 5 p.m. on April 16 in PAWS Pit. The event drew around 40 students.
By D’Mari Dreher-Smith, Sports Editor Towson University’s Student Government Association passed a resolution urging the university to take action against Ryan Conway, a student basketball player who pled guilty to sexual assault and second degree assault in 2024. The resolution passed unanimously at the SGA’s March 31 general assembly meeting. The resolution urges the university to take “appropriate and timely action” against Conway.
By Theresa Pratt, Deputy News Editor Voting for the 106th Student Government Association board starts this Wednesday, April 15 at 9 a.m. and will last until Thursday, April 16 at 4 p.m. The voting process will be done online. To vote, students should sign into Involved@TU, according to SGA Elections Head Commissioner Jordan Barnes. Other than voting online independently, students can also vote online at the different polling stations set up around campus.

Two candidates are running for each administrative position except for treasurer, which has three candidates. The court is considering whether a lower court incorrectly applied Maryland law to Torney’s suit when considering a landowner’s responsibility to protect people on their property.

During the entrepreneurial competition, Bria Reeves won first place, taking home a prize of $7,000 for her business. The College Cup, hosted for the first time in 2022, is a competition for entrepreneurs where they pitch their business ideas for a chance to win cash prizes.

While seated on a bench, the firearm fell into a nearby mulch area without his knowledge. The next day, his spouse recovered the handgun using a metal detector. March 30, 2026: A student reported the theft of their e-scooter from the Science Complex.
By D’Mari Dreher-Smith, Sports Editor Towson University’s Student Government Association passed a resolution calling for a formal investigation into the relationship between University System of Maryland Regent Charles “Tom” McMillen and sex offender Jeffery Epstein. Fourteen of 15 SGA senators voted in favor of the resolution with one abstaining during the SGA’s general assembly March 24 meeting. The writer of the bill, Vice President Liam Brinton, thinks punitive action is necessary.
