Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State. Family members, friends and leading Yoruba film stars gathered on Monday to pay their final respects to the late actor. Veteran actors Dele Odule and Yinka Quadri broke down in tears as they mourned their longtime friend and colleague at the funeral. Tributes have continued to pour in for Ogogo, who died at 66 after a battle with cancer.

The FCCPC has conditionally approved MTN Group’s proposed $6.2bn acquisition of IHS Holding, bringing the deal closer to completion. MTN will be required to sell down up to 30 percent of the Nigerian component of the IHS business at market prices over time. Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Brigade have arrested three suspected gun runners after intercepting a vehicle carrying an AK-103-2 rifle, a magazine and 30 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition along the Kauran Namoda–Shinkafi Road in Zamfara State. The firearm was allegedly concealed in a bag of millet in an attempt to disguise its movement, with preliminary investigation indicating that the suspects were taking it to Yar-Galadima in Maru Local Government Area.
