As our mighty island once again buzzes with anticipation, we reflect on the privilege of experiencing yet another year in this timeless place.

May 10, 2025 As the first ferry horns of spring echo across the Straits, we find ourselves once again captivated by the magic of Mackinac Island. With each passing season, we're reminded why this special place continues to inspire the many visitors who make the trek to experience the natural beauty the island has to offer. This year, we're particularly excited to unveil our new artistic vision — the 2025 Mackinac Island Woodcut Collection.

Jul 03, 2024 Magic Happens When Creative Minds Come Together. Our team is very excited to introduce our latest design for the 2024 season. Inspired by one of Michigan’s greatest feats of engineering, The Mackinac Bridge. Threads always knew we wanted to do something special to pay tribute to such an iconic Michigan landmark, which is why waited almost five years to create this design. Most screen-printers recommend you only use up to three colors per a design, this new design uses ten.

At the end of each Mackinac tourist season our team gathers to reflect on the experience of all our fans — old and new — who we’ve met over the last few months. The conversation spans a myriad of topics, from how we can improve our hospitality to what innovative designs we think are missing from our collection of in-house-created designs. You’ve probably seen our new Lilac Sleeve design, inspired by our stunning and fragrant lilacs that count the largest collection of lilacs in North America.

Mackinac Island is a Great Lakes hub for enjoyable activities, relaxing adventures, and soaking up the good life. In our new series ‘In Case You Missed It’, we’re doing the hard work to keep you informed on all of the important news and views of America’s Favorite Island. 1. We just shared recently the exciting update of the new Great Lakes Cruise that will sail from Niagara Falls to some of the most exciting islands in North America.

As we enter 2023, not only are we looking ahead to the Mackinac Island season to come we are also looking back at seasons past. We’ve reached out to some of the incredibly talented visual storytellers who were able to capture Mackinac Island through their own unique perspective. This is Mackinac Reflections, an opportunity to look back at the magical moments in time that will continue to spark joy and nostalgia for years to come.

Dear Friends & Fans, Putting the finishing touches on the new shop. That’s right, Threads of Mackinac has officially relocated to 7295 Main Street! When we officially opened Threads of Mackinac on Astor Street in 2019, we had dreams of someday being part of the action and energy of Main Street. It’s just one of the facets that makes Mackinac Island such a memorable, magical destination.

Mackinac Island’s Public Library is chock full of story. Not only is it a one-stop-facility for all of your literary needs, it’s also a peaceful oasis when you want to indulge your inner bibliophile sea-side. Photo by Linda Sorenson The public library of Mackinac Island was originally founded in 1936 by Rosa Truscott Disbrow Webb, the president of the Mackinac Island Community Association at the time, with the help of the Mackinac Island Girl Scouts — Michigan’s first troop.
