Sky News has learnt that Just Group has initiated a consultation with about 500 employees about a redundancy programme which is expected to result in the loss of more than 300 jobs. It is the second wave of job losses since Brookfield took Just Group private, with about 150 roles being cut in May. City sources said that in total, roughly 30% of the company's workforce will have been let go by the time the latest round of cuts takes effect.

A black Audi A3 went into the water in Sunderland on Tuesday afternoon, killing two teenage boys and a teenage girl, Northumbria Police said. Four people are understood to have been in the car at the time, with the 17-year-old boy managing to reach safety. He has since been arrested in connection to the incident. The teenager is currently in hospital with non-serious injuries, and remains in police custody. Following a major emergency operation, the three bodies were recovered from the water.

Samantha O'Reilly, 38, and Steven Cummins, 39, appeared before Dublin District Court on Tuesday charged with knowingly providing false statements in judicial proceedings.
