The construction industry added 11,000 jobs on net in June, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released this week by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has expanded by 64,000 jobs, an increase of 0.8%. Nonresidential construction employment increased by 19,900 positions, with gains in all three subcategories. Nonresidential specialty traded added the most jobs, increasing by 14,100 net positions.
