One of Europe’s largest airlines has finally returned to Dubai following a six-month hiatus. Air France resumed its route between Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and Dubai International Airport on Wednesday August 26. The airline was one of several foreign airlines to halt flights to the region in March of this year. The French flag carrier has revised its travel advisory on a near-weekly basis over the past six months, gradually pushing back its return until this week.

One of Dubai’s most famous buildings is set to be demolished however, the twist is that its iconic sign is set to live on. The Nasser Rashid Lootah Building, better known as the “Toyota Building”, has stood tall on Sheikh Zayed Road since 1974, making it one of the oldest high-rises in the city. Following the installation of a giant red-and-white Toyota sign on its roof in 1981, the building stood out as the surrounding area saw Dubai transform into a global metropolis.

The world’s largest international airline has announced new luxury flights between Dubai and a popular Asian capital. Emirates is set to deploy its A350 aircraft on flights between Dubai International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport from Tuesday September 1. It will expand upon the airline’s existing luxury offering to the Malaysian capital, introducing its premium economy class on flights EK344/345.

Good news, motorists. There will be free parking in Dubai for the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday public holiday. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that all paid public parking will be free across the city. You can park in public parking spots without spending a dirham on Friday August 28. Dubai residents in both the private and public sectors will enjoy a three-day-long weekend to mark the occasion.

However, despite regional disruption, more than 31.5 million guests have travelled through the Dubai travel hub in the first six months of the year. This is a drop of 31.3 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
