Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that a popular service road will be closed until the end of 2026. The bus and taxi service road at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station is now closed until the end of the year to allow the authority to carry out its huge plans for expansion at the station. In the meantime, commuters will still be able to use nearby alternative parking areas to continue their journeys.

The UAE’s long-awaited passenger rail network is finally launching, but Dubai residents will need to wait a little longer before they can board. Etihad Rail began passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah on Tuesday June 30, marking the first phase of the network’s rollout across the UAE. However, Dubai and Sharjah stations are scheduled to open later this year as the national railway expands.

The airline’s latest travel update advises holidaymakers to arrive at DXB four hours before their flight is due to depart. The highly anticipated Etihad Rail passenger service is finally on the tracks and whisking us across the emirates. Launching the route between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah on Tuesday June 30, the initial passenger service will link the two emirates before expanding to Dubai and Sharjah later in the year.
