Yorkville’s Michelin-starred Aburi Hana is reopening this month. Aburi Hana, located at 102 Yorkville Ave., is set to open its doors on Sept. 17, following the closure that began in the fall of 2025. A year ago, Aburi Hana’s then-chef Ryusuke Nakagawa announced he would be leaving the restaurant to return to Japan. After the announcement, the team decided to renovate the space, and they’re now ready to welcome diners back in.

A first-of-its-kind after dark experience has arrived at the Toronto Zoo. Glow in the Wild kicked off on Sept. 3, and transforms the Zoo into a nighttime adventure, while more than 2,000 handcrafted illuminated lantern displays bring the wild to life in a whole new light.

Art enthusiasts, take note: Ontario Culture Days is returning with more than 1,500 free experiences across the province from Sept. 18 to Oct. 4. The 17-day festival showcases art in unexpected ways and ranges from interactive dog carnivals to massive inflatable installations. “Ontario Culture Days is about making arts and culture accessible, surprising and deeply rooted in community,” said Ruth Burns, executive director of Ontario Culture Days.

T&T Supermarket is opening a new 68,000-sq.-ft. store in a former Hudson’s Bay space in Markham. As it expands its Ontario footprint, T&T states that this new location — set to be the largest Asian grocery store in Markham — will be in CF Markville (5000 Hwy 7). While it is a new location for the grocery store, this actually marks the location and expansion of its current Unionville store, and it is set to open in 2028.

Toronto’s newest free festival is bringing the K-pop craze directly to Sankofa Square, complete with live performances, innovative K-beauty pop-ups and savoury street eats. Presented by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Canada, the inaugural festival runs from Sept. 12 to 13 and showcases the “authentic sights, sounds and tastes of Korea,” according to Youna Oh, KTO Canada director.

Air Canada just announced its newest routes for 2027, and it will be the only airline with non-stop flights to Nice, France, known as one of Europe’s leading beach destinations. Air Canada’s Toronto-Nice flights are set to launch June 16, with service continuing until Oct. 23, 2027.
