One of Wilmington’s most recognizable landmarks is entering a new chapter while keeping its century-old history firmly in view. HOTEL DU PONT is rolling out a series of updates that combine the property’s historic character with a more contemporary approach to hospitality.

The festival will take place on the grounds of the Wilson-Warner House, built more than 250 years ago and now Delaware’s first house museum. Located in Middletown, JAKL Beer Works is a microbrewery and taproom offering a rotating selection of small-batch craft beers along with a full calendar of music, trivia, open mic nights, seasonal celebrations and other activities. The brewery is the creation of longtime friends Andrew Kulp and Justin Lovuolo, who have known each other since middle school. Even the brewery’s unusual name reflects the friendship and partnership behind the business.

Opus, a new restaurant from Square Roots Collective, opens to the public Sept. 11 at 201 Birch Street in Kennett Square.
